Fast read and write speed: Flash memory is used as the storage medium, and the read speed is faster than that of mechanical hard disks. SSDs do not use magnetic heads, and the seek time is almost zero. The continuous write speed is amazing. Most SSD manufacturers will claim that their SSDs have a continuous read and write speed of more than 500MB/s. In recent years, NVMe SSDs can reach about 2000MB/s, or even more than 4000MB/s. The speed of SSDs is not only reflected in continuous reading and writing. The fast random read and write speed is the ultimate secret of SSDs, which is most directly reflected in most daily operations. Related to this is the extremely low access time. The most common 7200 rpm mechanical hard disk has a seek time of 12-14 milliseconds, while SSDs can easily reach 0.1 milliseconds or even lower.
Shock and drop resistance: Traditional hard disks are all disk-type, and data is stored in disk sectors. Solid-state drives are made of flash memory particles (i.e. storage media such as MP3 and USB flash drives), so there are no mechanical parts inside SSD solid-state drives, so that even in high-speed movement or even with flipping and tilting, it will not affect normal use, and the possibility of data loss can be minimized in the event of collision and shock. Compared with traditional hard drives, solid-state drives have absolute advantages.
Low power consumption: The power consumption of solid-state drives is lower than that of traditional hard drives.
No noise: Solid-state drives do not have mechanical motors and fans, and the noise value is 0 decibels when working. Flash-based solid-state drives have low energy consumption and heat generation in working state (but high-end or large-capacity products will have higher energy consumption). There are no mechanical moving parts inside, no mechanical failures will occur, and they are not afraid of collision, impact, and vibration. Since solid-state drives use flash memory chips without mechanical parts, they have the characteristics of low heat generation and fast heat dissipation.
Wide operating temperature range: Typical hard disk drives can only work in the range of 5 to 55 degrees Celsius. Most solid-state drives can work at -10 to 70 degrees Celsius. Solid-state drives are smaller and lighter than mechanical hard disks of the same capacity. The interface specifications and definitions, functions and usage methods of solid-state drives are the same as those of ordinary hard drives, and the product appearance and size are also consistent with ordinary hard drives. The operating temperature range of its chips is very wide (-40~85 degrees Celsius).
Lightweight: Solid-state drives are lighter in weight, 20-30 grams lighter than conventional 1.8-inch hard drives.
